Hi Kendra! It is wonderful to be speaking with you today!
You just released your album! Tell us about that!
Thanks so much for inviting me to interview! My newest album release is titled “of Consideration”. It is a 15 track full length LP release recorded in San Francisco at Hyde Street Studios. The feelings for these songs are westcoast arena rock and blues alternative; I think that really comes through in the sound. My signature touches of pop americana are present too, radiating throughout the album.
If you had to describe the album in three words, what would they be?
Beatnik Freestyle Folk
How does it feel to know it is out there in the world now and to see your work on this project start to really pay off?
It is a relaxing and revitalizing sensation! To know that all the hours and hopes and dreams that I poured into this project and all my projects are paying off!
It is otherworldly when I get comments on my music from people throughout the world. They seek me out, because they feel some sort of connection to the way I sing, my songs, and my music videos. That is why I do this, my love for performance and the ability to influence someone’s day for the better.
Have you done anything fun to celebrate?
Yeah! The weekend following my new album release, I was actually invited to perform LIVE for thousands of listeners on a radio station in Southern California. I played two tracks from “of Consideration” on KVTA 1590 AM Ventura. It was really cool, and I did amazing! Next week, I am headed up to NorCal to play some solo shows in celebration of my new album too.
What are your hopes for the continued response to the album?
For the tracks to continue to snowball in plays and shares til it reaches massive fandom! I am also going to be releasing a selection of new music videos and lyric videos from the album. There is always a chance of a remix or two too! You can watch the music video for the first single “So Hollywood” now! What keeps you motivated?
What keeps me going is the feeling of making myself proud. Proving to myself that I can do it. I have been working towards my dreams since I was a kid, so accomplishing my goals truly feels fulfilling.
Do you have any upcoming projects we should be aware of?
Yes! In July, I will be releasing another series of songs recorded in Nashville. These 4 songs are more mainstream country rock. I am so excited for everyone to hear these new songs too! Also, on August 12, my band ~ Kendra & the Bunnies ~ will be playing The Viper Room mainstage in West Hollywood, CA. We would love to see you there!
