I rarely have “nothing to wear” days anymore, and I attribute that to having a closet full of neutral items that easily mix and match. With minimalist staples making up the foundation of my wardrobe, getting dressed feels easy.
I also like being able to fall back on “uniform dressing” when I’m feeling uninspired on what to wear—the kinds of outfits that always feel right when I put them on. Most recently, one such outfit has been a fitted cardigan with capris, ballet flats, and a trench coat. If you have the everyday basics down, you can then build off of a simple base like this with a bag, earrings, or another statement piece of clothing.
Other things I rely on the most include boatneck T-shirts, slip dresses, cashmere sweaters, kitten heels, knee-high boots, and a collection sunglasses, including sporty wrap pairs, cat-eyes, and oversize bug-eye ones. Shop these and more easy-to-wear staples below from some of the brands that do them best: Camper, Cou Cou, Gap, J.Crew, Leset, Rue Sophie, Vagabond, and more.
