SiteMinder Wants Hotels to Show Up When AI Does the Booking

Hotels have spent years optimizing for Google — SiteMinder wants to make sure they’re just as visible when travelers turn to AI instead.

The hotel commerce platform announced Wednesday two expansions designed to put its 53,000 hotels in front of AI-powered trip planning and booking tools, along with a partnership with DirectBooker that connects live hotel rates directly to platforms like ChatGPT and Claude.

The updates were enabled by Model Context Protocol, which establishes a common format and language so AIs can connect to business systems, which in this case means live hotel data.
