Crystal-N is making waves in the pop world with her captivating voice and vibrant energy. As she gears up for the release of her new music, we had the chance to sit down with her to learn more about her journey, musical influences, and what’s in store.
How did you get started in music, and when did you realize pop was the direction you wanted to take?
My earliest memories were getting in trouble for singing at the dinner table. I would frequently take familiar melodies and change the lyrics starting from a very young age. I think Pop music felt like a fit because I’m destined to be popular. But in all seriousness I didn’t decide anything, Spirit decided for me when this song came to me in a dream one night. More genres will definitely be covered!
Who are some of the artists or genres that have influenced your sound the most?
Soooo many beautiful souls have been a part of my evolution. Alanis Morrisette, Pink, Taylor Swift, Stevie Nicks, Post Malone, Imagine Dragons, and Janis Joplin to name a few.
Can you give us a behind-the-scenes look at the making of your upcoming music? How has the process been for you?
Just today it was decided my husband and I will be divorcing, so I haven’t been really making music. But I am currently in an open relationship with Music (the true love of my life) so we are marching into our Villain Era. Meanwhile, I have primarily been self-promoting through Tik-tok and other Platforms, as well as networking with local musicians. Gathering all the ingredients needed to perform and record when we are ready!
What’s the most exciting part about releasing new music, and how do you hope it connects with your audience?
Since this is my FIRST single release, I think the most exciting thing is that I planned the release date on my middle son’s 9th birthday! I’m so excited to play it off Spotify for him, on his birthday. We frequently jam to the tune at home bluetoothed file. My audience is going to be so wide, since my story is very unique and I had many “normal” jobs and did the Mom thing first, I look forward to connecting with my audience based on those factors alone.
What advice would you give to other aspiring musicians looking to break into the pop industry?
Being authentic is the hardest and most rewarding thing you can ever do in your life. BE YOU, because NOBODY else can be.
