Actress Selma Blair was arrested following a disturbing incident aboard a Delta Air Lines flight to New York City on Sunday, October 11, after she allegedly attempted to open an aircraft door mid-flight and physically attacked two flight attendants.
According to TMZ, the Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde star reportedly punched one crew member and bit another before authorities intervened when the plane landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
According to the publication, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey reported that two flight attendants reported injuries, and one was taken to the hospital. In dispatch audio obtained by TMZ, it indicated that the reported injuries included a bloody nose and bite marks.
In the audio, medical personnel were requested to be ready at the gate for the flight attendants and a passenger involved in the incident. The dispatcher stated that “one flight attendant and one passenger have sustained minor injuries. A bloody nose, as well as some bite marks.”

Blair’s representative has since attributed the incident to a medical emergency, while the FBI is investigating what happened aboard the flight. “Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition,” the representative told TMZ.
The incident follows a previous in-flight disturbance in 2016, when Blair was removed from a Delta Air Lines first-class flight on a stretcher at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) following a mid-flight outburst. Blair later stated to Vanity Fair that she had accidentally mixed prescription medication with wine, causing her to black out. “I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath. I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry.”
As of publication, Blair remains hospitalized for evaluation following her arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear whether she will face criminal charges.
