Take some time to enjoy the view because The View has just had its best premiere week ratings in six years. The daytime talk show is cohosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
According to Variety, The View averaged 2.518 million total viewers during its Season 30 premiere week, which began on September 8. That number is up eight percent from the 2025 premiere week, which had 2.324 million viewers.
This was the show’s largest overall premiere week audience since the 2020-2021 season. Between women ages 18 to 49, The View attracted its best viewership in four years with 173,000, which was up 15 percent from last season. For women in the 25 to 54 age range, the talk show saw a seven percent spike with an average of 208,000 women.
As for the premiere show, it averaged 2.607 million viewers, which was up from 2.602 million last September 8. This makes it the most-watched season premiere in six years, since 2020.
Premiere week saw guests Ted Cruz, Lizzo, Sherri Shepherd, and Maisie Williams. The series is executive produced by Brian Teta.
The guests for the second week of the season include Colin Kaepernick, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Ke Huy Quan, Ethan Hawke, Clay Aiken, and Kenny Chesney.
This season also marked Behar’s 28th season, which, according to Goldberg, means “she has now officially hosted more seasons of an American talk show than any other woman.”
Behar, in her usual style, responded with a joke. “All I can say is that I was here when the show was in black and white, and Barbara Walters, I said to Barbara, ‘We’re going to get old on the show.’ She said, ‘You’ve got to get old anyway,’” she told her cohosts.
“Honestly, what a privilege that is, because not everyone gets to grow old doing things like this,” Haines responded.
“I mean, I’m here longer than the Jolly Green Giant,” Behar responded.
The hosts also covered topics such as the Lindsay Clancy trial, President Trump’s $5,000 promise, personal 9/11 memories, the Sydney Sweeney ad controversy, and more. Outside of the show, Navarro shared her husband’s medical diagnosis, and Farah Griffin shared an update on her son’s surgery.
