What To Know

  • Tomi Lahren admitted she’s worried that Republicans won’t vote in the midterms this fall because they’re unhappy with certain aspects of the current administration.
  • She cited the SAVE America Act not being passed and the Department of Homeland Security backtracking on mass deportations.
  • The Fox News anchor’s message received many responses on X.

Fox News anchor Tomi Lahren is worried that Republicans won’t turn up at the polls for the 2026 midterm elections. She made the declaration on X in response to an interview that the secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, did on CNN.

In the interview, Mullin discussed the 350,000 Haitians currently living in the United States under Temporary Protected Status. He said to avoid being deported, “they can try to apply for a permanent residence here, they can apply for a temporary visa if they choose to, or they can choose to go back. And if they wanna go back, we’ll help them with that.”

Lahren wasn’t thrilled with this position or the fact that the SAVE America Act was not pushed through by the senate (SAVE America would require ID and proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections.)

She wrote on X, “So no voter ID and now mass deportations aren’t happening either. Why do we elect Republicans? Don’t be surprised when conservatives stay home in November. I’m not advocating for it but I won’t be surprised.”

Trump has been heavily advocating for the SAVE America Act to be passed ahead of the 2026 elections.

Lahren’s tweet elicited a big response on the social media site. “@SecMullinDHS had better come out soon and backtrack — THIS IS NOT WHAT WE VOTED FOR! @POTUS” one person wrote. Someone else said, Complete dereliction of duty and lack of care for what American citizens voted for. This is outrageous. No SAVE AMERICA ACT and this? It’s one big uniparty,” and another person wrote, “If I’m home that day, my car won’t be leaving the driveway. If I’m out, I’ll drive right past the voting center. No more signs. No more donations. No more voting.”

Another commenter also added, “It is what I am beginning to ask myself as well. The Senate and House haven’t done much to show that that our opinions matter.”
