HGTV star Erin Napier gushed about her husband, Ben Napier, in a special Father’s Day post on Sunday (June 21), featuring a rare photo of the couple’s daughters, Helen (8) and Mae (5).
“If I went out of town for 2 weeks, he would know just what to do,” Erin wrote alongside the Instagram post. “He would know how much syrup Mae likes on her waffles in the morning, and how Helen falls asleep faster if you rub her feet at bedtime. He knows when a girl is crying she probably needs a snack, a hug and a swim.”
She added, “He carries us. We are the luckiest.”
The post included two photos, the first showing Ben with both girls on his shoulders while standing in a swimming pool. Erin strategically placed love heart emojis over the girls’ faces. The second photo was taken from behind as Ben carried Helen and Mae, with only the backs of their heads visible.
Erin’s mother, Karen Rasberry, commented on the post, writing, “Happy Father’s Day to my favorite son in law and a tremendous girl dad!”
Fans also left sweet comments, including one Instagram user who wrote, “There is nothing more precious than these words…”
“Love your tribute to your husband,” said another.
“You are blessed!! Ben is amazing!! Such a wonderful family you both have,” another added.
Another wrote, “Happy Father’s Day to Ben! He is a shining example of what a husband and father should be.”
“More than luck. You both chose love, family, community, and love love love. Couple goals,” said one commenter.
Erin previously opened up about keeping her kids off social media in a 2023 article for Today.com. She explained that she once posted a photo of Helen online and “someone criticized the way she looked… It made me see red. It made my blood boil.”
“And it seems like the criticism always comes from other women. It feels like betrayal when a fellow mother has the gall to criticize your child or your parenting,” she added.
Erin said that she and Ben, along with three other families, “made an informal agreement to support each other in keeping our kids off social media and smartphones at large.”
Over the years, Erin and Ben have kept their kids’ faces off social media and avoided showing them on their HGTV show Home Town. When they do share pictures of the girls, the shots are always from behind or with their faces obscured.
