
The Trump administration is waiving visa bond requirements of up to $15,000 for confirmed World Cup ticket holders from certain countries, the State Department told the Associated Press on Wednesday.
U.S. officials said FIFA had requested the waiver, which required approval from the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security. Travelers from 50 countries, including five that have qualified for this year’s World Cup — Algeria, Cape Verde, the Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Tunisia — are subject to visa bonds.
