Film

The recently-released Silo series is an intriguing take on a dark future that’s ongoing on Apple TV Plus. If you watched and loved the first episodes of the Rebecca Ferguson-led series, you might wonder whether there is already a Silo season 2 release date. Here’s all the information you need to know.

Is there a new Silo series?

No, there is no new Silo series at the moment.

Written and created by Graham Yost, Silo concludes its first run when its tenth installment airs on June 30. The dystopian series is based on Hugh Howey’s post-apocalyptic novel trilogy of the same name. It’s unlikely the showrunner condensed the story into one season, which is why fans might hope to see a renewal.

Briefly, the plot follows the journey of a couple trying to have a child in a dystopian future where humanity resides deep underground. In a recent interview with Radio Times, Yost teased he is aiming to cover the whole book trilogy with a four-season series. However, his plans might always change. The final word is up to Apple TV Plus, which has been very generous with its shows on previous occasions. Indeed, the second book of the trilogy expands the story and opens new possibilities for the protagonists. Fans will have to wait to find out more.

Best known for her recent role as Lady Jessica in Dune, Ferguson leads Silo as an engineer called Juliette. In the story, Juliette is investigating what happened to her lover, George (Ferdinand Kingsley), who was about to uncover some very dangerous truths about their underground community before his mysterious death.

Silo also stars Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption), Rashida Jones (The Office), David Oyelowo (Selma), Common (John Wick: Chapter 2), Harriet Walter (Ted Lasso), Avi Nash (The Walking Dead), Iain Glen (Game of Thrones), Shane McRae (Sneaky Pete), and more.
