Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova Video Game Announced

Star Trek: Resurgence isn’t the only Star Trek game coming out this year, as Outright Games has just announced Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova. Supernova is based on the Paramount+ and Nickelodeon show of the same name and is coming out “soon” on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. A banner for the game also lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, but the box art for those prospective versions don’t show up in the game’s key art.

Outright did not reveal much else about the title — it doesn’t have a trailer — so it’s unclear what kind of game it is. Its few pieces of key art only show Kathryn Janeway, Gwyndala, and Dal R’El. It’s unknown if Kate Mulgrew, Ella Purnell, and Brett Gray (or any of the characters that have yet to be revealed) will reprise their roles for the game.

Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova is the first Star Trek game aimed at a younger audience, which is in line with the show. Prodigy is still airing its first, 20-episode season and its second season is already in production. A poster at the Star Trek: Mission Chicago convention also leaked the game’s existence one day early.

Tessera Studios is the developer behind the game and has created Intruders: Hide and Seek, a VR stealth horror title that released to middling reviews. Outright Games, the publisher, is known for publishing a whole host of children’s games like My Friend Peppa Pig and an array of Paw Patrol titles, as well as the upcoming DC League of Super-Pets game.
