It’s my pleasure! Thank you so much for having me.
What have you been working on lately?
I’m actually just about to go into the studio to start work on a new album! It’s a concept album based on the idea of the “Hero’s Journey”. Each song will stand alone, but when you listen to the album from start to finish it will take you on the hero’s journey!
What do you think is an important habit of successful people?
For me, it’s been vital to have my big vision for my life and career really strong in my mind. It’s like a lifeline pulling me forward so when the going gets tough or I have moments of self-doubt or feeling unmotivated, I can hold that image of my future in my mind and remind myself what it’s all for.
How do you stay motivated on days where you don’t feel like creating?
Sometimes it’s definitely harder than others, but I’ve found that once I actually START working on music I begin to hyper focus. Sometimes I trick myself by doing something that’s creative adjacent to get my mind in that zone and inspired to work on what I’m actually supposed to be doing. And don’t laugh, but I definitely have a vision board up on my wall. So when I’m really feeling unmotivated, I just stare at the board!
What have you been listening to lately? Anything you would recommend?
’m hooked on Jessie Ware’s new Album, “What’s Your Pleasure”. It’s Disco. It’s fun. It’s the perfect post pandemic Summer anthem!
If you could cover any song what would it be?
I’ve got a few songs that I’m eager to cover, but, my ultimate career dream is to sing Stevie Nick’s “Bella Donna” in her honor at the Kennedy Center.
Any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?
I’m headed into the studio to record on July 5th and then hopefully this new album will be out in the world later this year!
