Who is Intelligent Diva? Is she a Singer? Is She A Rapper? How about an Actress? Or how about a software tester for a data based company? Well, she is all of these things, and perhaps a bit more. Intelligent Diva found music through religion, as her first exposure to singing, came while attending church as a child. She therefore, cites Gospel as her musical roots. As many do, she also credits 90’s influences on her style as well, as this seems to be when she was at her most impressionable.

Recently, Diva has opted for a mature, racier style to her music. She is embracing her femininity in the most erotic sense of the word. You get the impression that Diva associates this sort of salacious expression with an affirmation of independence and female empowerment. What’s certain is that Diva owns whatever she puts her name on, and her new single, “Sex To A Sax,” is no exception. We get to hear Diva at her most steamy on this track, and we also get some serious saxophone, of course.
Aaron Bing brings the horn energy to “Sex To A Sax,” and he brings it all. There are times when Bing’s performance may border on excessive, but his presence on the track lends an added dose of credibility. He and Diva reach a fever pitch, as she graphically describes showing a lover a night of unbridled pleasure. The two have a kind of detached chemistry, and if it was Diva’s call to enlist the talents of Bing, it was a good one. The primal energy on this piece is raw and palpable.
In many ways, “Sex To A Sax” is R&B 101. The slant comes with Diva’s uninhibited lyrical delivery, and descriptive setting. Intelligent Diva is savvy enough to know her audience, what they like to hear, and how they can see glimpses of themselves in her music. She’s a businesswoman, with artistic interests, who merges the two to create something, quite distinctive. She knows how to reflect the lives of her listeners, and does so with advantageous results.
“Sex To A Sax,” will go down as a memorable track for Intelligent Diva. Between Aaron Bing’s brilliant performance, and Diva’s libido driven soliloquy, this track will have its own page in Diva’s catalog of work. It will be intriguing to chart where Diva goes from here, and just how far she will continue to flirt with the edge. Keeping up with Intelligent Diva is a task in and of itself, as you truly never know where she will be popping up next. Where she goes, next, is for her to know, and us to learn. As for now, you can hear her music, and see her on the screen as well, as she stars alongside the late Tony Lister, in a film being released, later this year.
