Interview with Emily  Daccarett

Interview with Emily  Daccarett
Culture, Music

How are you making out in 2021 with your music?

It’s actually been really good so far! I’ve been writing a lot and also co-writing  with other songwriters. Writing has helped me keep my spirits up. I released my  lead single Fading Memories from my upcoming album Yours Always. It’s been  so nice to hear how people are receiving it!

What has the difference been between 2020 Emily Daccarett vs. 2021 Emily  Daccarett?

2020 Emily Daccarett was trying to wrap her head around being an “artist” and  performer. I don’t like to create for vanity, and I was still trying to see if there was  a place for me and my art. I write music to connect with people and to help inspire  them to dream and hope, but I wasn’t sure if people needed that from me. In  writing Yours Always (my new album), I knew I had to be transparent and  comfortable with being vulnerable. My lead single Fading Memories is exactly  that, going through a journey of self-discovery and reuniting with my childhood  dreams.

Is there anything or one that has contributed to the growth?

With each new project I feel more connected with the person I’m becoming. That  might sound crazy or dramatic, but in the beginning of my career I was a fashion  designer and the music I wrote was for my fashion films. Now that I am putting  the spotlight on my music, on live performances, and myself as the artist, the  dynamics have change, and now I have to get into the headspace of the talent I used to direct. It was scary at first but I’m so happy I got the privilege to express  myself through me.

What do you base your success on?

The love and excitement I get from creating. It’s a slow climb, but I never waiver  from who I am as an artist and I take my time on my projects. It’s important to me  to experiment and develop my craft and to do that you have to be ok with slowing  down.

How has the support of your fans kept you going?

It’s everything! It feels unreal when fans reach out to tell me that they love my  music. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it. I’m so happy to share my fantasy world  with them. It motivates me to keep going and push myself even more. The  restrictions of being an indie artist force me to think outside of the box, and that’s when magic usually happens.

  Any major news to share?

I have a new music video out for Fading Memories and will have a series of music  videos that further tell the story of the album! I’m also starting to plan some live gigs  now that things are starting to open!!

What do new fans need to stream RIGHT now of yours?

Please stream Fading Memories! It’s a gothic style waltz trapped between reality  and fantasy. We wanted to have a big band feel and give it a cinematic approach.  It’s my first time incorporating spoken word in English, I had only ever done this  in French before!

Where can they keep up with you going forward?
