Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is hosting India-themed evenings at its Greece properties as it looks to capture a growing pool of Indian travelers heading overseas.
The push comes as a wave of new nonstop flights makes Greece easier to reach from India. IndiGo launched direct flights between Mumbai and Athens in January 2026, followed by Delhi-Athens a day later. Greek carrier Aegean added direct service to New Delhi in March and Mumbai from May, giving the two countries substantially more nonstop capacity.
For Wyndham, the new routes are an indication of where Indian hotel demand is heading.
The company is increasingly watching where new airports, highways and airline routes are opening up travel, then looking to put its hotels in the path of that demand. The strategy works to capture Indians traveling within the country, while using its global network to capture them when they go abroad.
