Armie Hammer turned 38 this year, and for his birthday, his mom gave him a vasectomy.
On Monday’s episode of The Armie HammerTime Podcast, the actor, who was joined by his mom Dru, talked about how that present came about.
“I call Armie, and I go, ‘Armie, what would you like for your birthday this year?’ And he goes, ‘I don’t know, maybe money. Whatever.’ And I was like, ‘I believe I’m going to give you a vasectomy.’”
Hammer then talked about undergoing the procedure.
“I go to a doctor’s office and I go, ‘I’m here to schedule a vasectomy,’” he recalled. He then noted that he was asked to fill out paperwork and consult with a doctor.
“He was like, ‘Are you sure you wanna do this?’ I’m like, ‘I have two beautiful kids. I don’t want any more kids. I’m good to go,’” Hammer said of the daughter and son he shares with ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers.
After the consultation, the receptionist asked Hammer to pay for the procedure, and he responded, “My mother’s going to be calling you and she’s going to be paying for it.’”
“She was looking down and she [looked up] and goes, ‘What?’ And I go, ‘Yes, my mother gave me this as a birthday present,’” he continued. “It just was one of those things like you could tell she was hearing something and like, ‘I’ve never heard — what are you talking about?’ So yeah, my mom got me a vasectomy for my birthday.”
Hammer first announced in October that he was returning to the spotlight with The Armie HammerTime Podcast after his Hollywood career imploded amid numerous sexual misconduct allegations
“Some of you are going to love this and some of you are going to fucking hate it,” he said in a video on Instagram. “I’ve been gone for the last four years and now I’m back. What are you gonna do? So it’s going to be a sort of journal, or a chronicling, of putting my life back together.”
The podcast features guests who “know one thing that you don’t” and shows them engaging in long conversations that “teach [him] what that thing is”
The Social Network actor will also return to the big screen in Travis Mills’ period Western Frontier Crucible.
