Hulu has picked up U.S. rights to Paris Has Fallen, the new action series spin-off of the Gerard Butler Has Fallen film franchise. StudioCanal is producing the TV drama together with War of the Worlds producer Urban Myth Films, Millennium Media, Butler’s G-Base and Eclectic Pictures. Paris Has Fallen recently premiered on its Canal+ series in France. Hulu will release the show in the U.S. later this year.

Paris Has Fallen features Spiral actor Tewfik Jallab as Vincent Taleb, a protection officer safeguarding a French Minister who is targetted by a terrorist group. Joined by MI6 operative Zara (Red Notice actress Ritu Arya) they work to unravel a conspiracy that may implicate one of their own.

The series is inspired by the Has Fallen film franchise, which stars Gerard Butler as United States Secret Service agent Mike Banning. The trio of Has Fallen features: Olympus Has Fallen (2013), London Has Fallen (2016), and Angel Has Fallen (2019) have grossed more than $500 million at the box office worldwide. Plans for a fourth entry, Night Has Fallen, have been announced, but the film has yet to go into production.

Amazon Prime Video has picked up Paris Has Fallen for the UK and Ireland, and SBS in Australia. Germany’s ZDF, which co-produced the show, has German rights.
