Prime Video‘s own look at the infamous 2019 TV interview between Prince Andrew and BBC journalist Emily Maitlis—played by Michael Sheen and Ruth Wilson—will be available to stream soon, and we now have the first photos of the two in those roles, plus others from the series.
A Very Royal Scandal premieres on September 19 on Prime Video, and it’s a retelling of the real-life interview between Maitlis and Prince Andrew over the scandalous accusations he faced regarding his alleged involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre. The series follows both Maitlis and the Prince’s actions in the lead-up to the one-hour interview, the event itself, and the questions left in its wake that changed their lives forever. Watch the trailer above for a look at how it all comes together, the interview itself, and more.
The series also stars Joanna Scanlan as Amanda Thirsk, Alex Jennings as Sir Edward Young, Éanna Hardwicke as Stewart Maclean, and Claire Rushbrook as Sarah Ferguson. Check out photos from the series below.
A Very Royal Scandal was directed by Julian Jarrold and written by Jeremy Brock. It was produced by Blueprint Television for Amazon MGM Studios. Karen Thrussell, Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, Diarmuid McKeown, Brock, Jarrold, and Maitlis herself serve as executive producers. Josh Hyams serves as a producer on the series.
