Where to Après in Jackson Hole

Blue Flag Capital

Jackson Hole’s après scene embodies true mountain culture. After a long day on the slopes there is nothing quite like catching all your friends up on your best runs, the jump you finally nailed, or drinking away the pain of a wipe out. In ski towns like Aspen the après scene has become a who’s who, see and be seen. Aspen’s après hot spots are frequented by Jenners, Kardashians, A-list celebrities, and famous DJs. But in Jackson Hole the celebrities are the ski instructors, lifties, and the local old timers who know all the best powder stashes.

Two staples in Teton Village are planning some changes, but the core culture is one thing locals don’t have to worry about. The Alpenhof and Snake River Lodge were recently acquired by Blue Flag Capital, the first Wyoming acquisitions for this Boston based company. Blue Flag has historically had an impressive portfolio of hotels and restaurants in New England hot spots like Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, making Jackson Hole a no brainer.

The Alpenhof is one of the original lodges in Teton Village and today is a favorite spot of locals, ski instructors, lifties and other mountain employees for après. The European inspired architecture of the building will truly make you feel like you are après-ing in the Swiss Alps! Blue Flag Capital has already brought in a few new menu items, the Swedish meatballs are a must. But the team is taking it slow, “before we make any changes, we always take time to simply listen and observe. We want to know from the guests and locals themselves what made the Snake River Lodge and Alpenhof great so that when we make any needed changes down the road, it’s coming from a place of respecting the past and building upon it” said Jason Brown CEO of Blue Flag Capital.

The Alpenhof is steeped in years of tradition and history, it has been home to countless après ski festivities and boasts a very impressive mug-club program! When asked what existing elements of the Alpenhof they wanted to maintain, Blue Flag Capital Director, Ricki Millington explained, “the history behind Alpenhof has amazed us – every Jackson Hole legend ties back to that property, and those stories will undoubtedly be what helps us write its future.” Surely locals and visitors will be enjoying decades more of après at Alpenhof to come!

This season Blue Flag Capital rolled out a new concept next door at Snake River Lodge: Yard Sale. An easy-going retro themed bar for après hang outs. Offering a great selection of après bites and drinks, this is a casual spot with a killer playlist to gather with family and friends for a quick refuel after a day on the slopes. A new concept that stays authentic to Jackson Hole: bringing community together around the mountain to celebrate outdoor experiences.

Jackson Hole is having one of their longest seasons ever with a planned closing date of April 14, 2024, giving hardcore skiers and après fans just under a month left. We recommend they do two more runs and skip the last, then head to Alpenhof or Yard Sale for celebratory drinks to close out the season!
