Battlestar Galactica ended its fourth season on March 20, 2009, and since then fans of the reimagined science fiction series have been curious about whether or not a fifth season is happening. Battlestar Galactica was followed by a spin-off prequel series, Caprica, and a spin-off web series Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome.

Is there a Battlestar Galactica Season 5 release date?

At the moment, there are no plans for Battlestar Galactica Season 5 as the show ended after four seasons. Thus there is no release date for Battlestar Galactica Season 5. However, a Battlestar Galactica series reboot is currently in development at Peacock.

Battlestar Galactica is set in a distant star system, where civilizations live in a group of planets known as the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. In the past, the Colonies had been at war with the Cylons, their own creations. The Cylons, with the unwitting help of scientist Gaius Baltar, eventually launch a sneak attack on the Colonies and deal a heavy blow to them by killing billions of people. The Battlestar Galactica leads the only colonial fleet that survived the attack and now with the help of Commander Bill Adama and President Laura Roslin, the fleet tries to take the survivors of the Cylon attack to a thirteenth colony known as Earth.

Battlestar Galactica cast includes Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Jamie Bamber, Katee Sackhoff, James Callis, Tricia Helfer, Tahmoh Penikett, Grace Park, and Michael Hogan, among other cast members.

Where is Battlestar Galactica Season 5 coming out?

There are no plans for Battlestar Galactica Season 5 to air on Syfy as the series has concluded.

The official synopsis for Battlestar Galactica reads:

“When an old enemy, the Cylons, resurface and obliterate the 12 colonies, the crew of the aged Galactica protects a small civilian fleet – the last of humanity – as they journey toward the fabled 13th colony, Earth.”
