Despite halting production earlier this week due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, a new Interview with the Vampire Season 2 teaser trailer has been released, teasing a trip to Europe and a new coven.
The trailer teases the introduction of the Théâtre des Vampires, as well as a new coven headed up by Armand (Assad Zaman). The teaser also gives fans a closer look at Delainey Hayles, who is taking over for Bailey Bass as Claudia after Bass left the series following its first season.
While the trailer did come out during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, fans still shouldn’t expect to see more until next year. Currently, the second season is set for a 2024 release date, and with both the writer’s and actor’s strike ongoing, it’s unknown when things will wrap up.

What is AMC’s Interview with the Vampire about?
Interview With the Vampire Season 1 consisted of eight episodes, and was written and executive produced by Emmy nominee Rolin Jones, who also serves as the showrunner. It starred Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Bailey Bass, Eric Bogosian, Assad Zaman, Christian Robinson, Kalyne Coleman, and Maura Grace Athari.
“The series follows Louis de Pointe du Lac, Lestat de Lioncourt, and Claudia’s epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy,” reads the synopsis. “Chafing at the limitations of life as a black man in 1900s New Orleans, Louis finds it impossible to resist the rakish Lestat’s offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion. But Louis’s intoxicating new powers come with a violent price, and the introduction of Lestat’s newest fledgling, the child vampire Claudia, soon sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.”
The series is executive produced by Oscar winner Mark Johnson and Christopher Rice. The project is part of both Jones and Johnson’s overall deals with AMC Studios.
The first The Interview with the Vampire adaptation resulted in the Neil Jordan-directed movie. Rice worked on the screenplay of the 1994 Oscar-nominated film. It starred Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst, as well as Christian Slater and Antonio Banderas.
