The special episode is dedicated to the character Ryusui Nanami, one of the major characters in the Dr. Stone series and one of the Five Wise Commanders of the Kingdom of Science, a state that’s found inside the series. The special will also act as a bit of a holdover for fans as they wait for the highly anticipated third season of the anime to return in 2023.
2022 has already been a big year for Dr. Stone, as the manga series recently came to a close at the beginning of March. Following its launch in March 2017, Dr. Stone quickly became one of the most popular manga in circulation and has gone on to sell over 10 million copies worldwide, while also winning the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award in 2019.
