Angelina Jolie Excited for Chloé Zhao to Bring A New Voice to Marvel

Fans recently got a brief glimpse at footage from Marvel Studios’ upcoming Eternals. In a recent interview, star Angelina Jolie said she’s excited for fans to see more of what Chloe Zhao has in store for them.

During a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Jolie was asked about what it was like to see Zhao take home the Oscar for Best Picture for Nomadland, and the actress was pleased. “I was very, very happy,” Jolie said. “Very, very happy. I think she’s…she’s a special director. You know, she’s a really interesting woman. She’s very thoughtful, very serious about her work. I think she’s bringing a new voice through her films, and, I think, to Marvel. So I’m very excited for people to see it.” 

Jolie didn’t delve too much into the film or what to expect, but judging by the recent footage and information from Kevin Feige, it seems as if Zhao is going to bring a unique vision to the world of Marvel.

Within the Marvel Universe, the Eternals are a nearly immortal offshoot from humanity, which the Celestials created. Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden are headlining the film as Thena and Ikaris, respectively. Kumail Nanjiani co-stars as Kingo, with Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak,  Lia McHugh as Sprite, and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.

Marvel Studios’ Eternals is currently scheduled to release on November 5, 2021.
