Originally scheduled for a 2020 and June 18 release, the film is now set to make its debut in theaters and on HBO Max on June 11. The last release date was pitting the film against Disney-Pixar’s newest animated film Luca, though its new release date puts it squarely ahead of the family-friendly adventure and fellow WB title The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.

Warner Bros.’ upcoming In the Heights is based on Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s award-winning Broadway musical of the same name. Alongside Miranda, the film stars Anthony Ramos (HamiltonA Star is Born), Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) and Golden Globe winner Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue), who will be playing the roles of Usnavi de la Vega, Benny and Kevin, respectively. Broadway star Daphne Rubin-Vega, Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz, and Orange Is the New Black‘s Dascha Polanco will also star.

In the Heights is set in Washington Heights in New York City and focuses on a bodega owner who is closing his store and retiring to the Dominican Republic after inheriting his grandmother’s fortune. The musical won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical.
