The Chainsmokers Talk Hitting “Reset Button” On Music & Social Media

Music

The Chainsmokers have emerged from the studio for a rare interview during lockdown, giving their supporters an update on what they’ve been doing and where they’re going from here.

Throughout quarantine, the duo consisting of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall have been working on investments by day (more here) and music by night. It’s a stark change-up from the 180 plus shows they played last year and 50 more Las Vegas residency gigs.

Their decision to hit the “reset button” on music and social media (see here) is not only what’s best for them at this time, they feel it’s best for the fans, too. When they come back, the music and content will be entirely fresh and exciting.

The Chainsmokers reveal:

We were going to take this year, even pre-COVID, to just work on music and regroup. So, it’s pretty crazy what happened in the world at this time, after kind of making that decision for ourselves. But we spent our time doing just that.

Will Briger‘s 1 Hour Intern podcast with The Chainsmokers covers a lot of ground — from lockdown to dealing with criticism to inspirations to embarrassing moments, side hustles, like their new film score and much more. They venture back into their teenage years, pursuing music and some important lessons they’ve learned on their way to stardom.
