Delhi Hotels See Coldplay-Style Price Spike, This Time for an AI Summit

A suite that usually costs about INR 200,000 ($2,200) a night at the Taj Palace hotel in New Delhi was listed at more than INR 3 million ($33,000) per night, for the February 16-20 period. The jump is linked to the 2026 AI Impact Summit being held at Bharat Mandapam during the same dates.

The summit is expected to bring some of the world’s most influential business and technology figures to the city. Among those expected are Bill Gates, World Economic Forum President and CEO Børge Brende, Mukesh Ambani, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai. Senior executives from companies including Adobe, Accenture, Nvidia, Amazon, Qualcomm, and Microsoft are also expected.

The suite price at Taj Palace may be an extreme example, but the wider pattern is that hotel demand in Delhi has surged. A four-night stay in a deluxe twin room at the same Taj Palace hotel costs more than INR 290,000 ($3,200) during the summit. A week later, the same stay fall
