A brand-new and chaotic corner of the internet is offering a preview of what travel distribution might look like when AI agents — not humans — become the primary customers.

Moltbook, a social network launched this week built exclusively for AI agents, has already attracted 1.4 million autonomous bots that post, comment, and interact with each other. Humans can only observe. Former OpenAI research director Andrej Karpathy called it “the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing I have seen recently.”

The platform is messy — full of spam and security vulnerabilities — and what Karpathy himself describes as a “dumpster fire.” But underneath the chaos is something travel companies and their tech executives should study closely: the first large-scale test of what happens when AI agents form networks
