No one knows exactly when it’s coming, but Colman Domingo has started talking about season three of Euphoria.

The Oscar nominee, picking up buzz this awards season for his starring role in Greg Kwedar’s Sing Sing, spoke on the newly-released episode of the U.K.’s Table Manners podcast with Jessie and Lennie Ware.

The actor divulged when asked about his upcoming projects: “I go back to my show Euphoria — I haven’t read [the script] but [creator Sam Levinson] told me some of it, and it’s going to be groundbreaking.

Domingo earned widespread praise for his performance as recovering drug addict Ali opposite Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie and more in the critically acclaimed HBO show Euphoria. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding guest actor in a drama series for the role.

Little is known about the next installment of Levinson’s teen drama except that production is meant to commence this month. Storm Reid, who played Gia Bennett, the younger sister of Zendaya’s Rue, recently said she won’t be returning to the series.

Season two of Euphoria was one of HBO’s biggest shows of 2022, averaging about 16 million cross-platform viewers per episode. That season concluded on Feb. 27, 2022.

The Emmy-winning drama has since gone through a number of delays — including when Levinson turned his attention to The Idol for HBO — which led to a cooling of Levinson and Zendaya’s once close relationship, as The Hollywood Reporter revealed earlier this year.

Aside from the Euphoria teasing, Domingo also spoke about his upcoming film with Steven Spielberg which he starts this month: “He’s a beautiful human being,” he said about Spielberg. “We’re going to do a film. I start that at the top of the year,” he told the podcast hosts.

On the production of Sing Sing, a prison drama in which he portrays John “Divine G” Whitfield, Domingo said: “95 percent of the actors in the film were formerly incarcerated, and went through that program, and [were] playing themselves.”

“The only professional actors are myself, Paul Raci… and Sean San Jose, who plays Mike.” He continued, discussing awards recognition for the movie: “I feel like, if this film gets a nomination or even a win, it’s incredible… it’ll tell the universe and the industry about what we want to amplify.”
