Amy Adams to Produce, Star in Comedy ‘Lazy Susans’ for 20th Century

Amy Adams is ready to make noise with the comedy feature Lazy Susans.

The actress has signed a deal to produce and star in the film that is in development at 20th Century Studios, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Annie Mumolo and Stan Chervin are penning the script for the project that does not yet have a director attached.

Lazy Susans centers on a rock band comprised of a group of musical moms. Adams and Stacy O’Neil will produce through their banner Bond Group Entertainment, alongside Vivek Tiwary and Jack Leslie.

Adams can soon be seen in Nightbitch, with the horror-comedy movie set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday. Adams and O’Neil also produced that film for Bond Group Entertainment. Based on the novel by author Rachel Yoder, Nightbitch follows Adams’ character, who put her career as an artist on hold to become a mother and suddenly realizes that she might be transforming into a canine.

A six-time Oscar nominee, the actress recently wrapped production on the features Klara and the Sun and At the Sea. Jenna Ortega also stars for Sony in Taika Waititi’s sci-fi flick Klara and the Sun that adapts the novel of the same name from author Kazuo Ishiguro, while At the Sea is an indie drama from director Kornél Mundruczó.

Adams is represented by Linden Entertainment, WME, Narrative and attorneys Jason Sloane and Harris Hartman. The star’s recent credits include Disenchanted, Dear Evan Hansen, The Woman in the Window and Hillbilly Elegy.
