Pixies have released a new track titled ‘Oyster Beds’ ahead of their set at London’s All Points East festival.
‘Oyster Beds’ is the third single released from their upcoming studio album, ‘The Night The Zombies Came’, following on from ‘Chicken’ and ‘You’re So Impatient’.
The guitar-laden punk track was inspired by frontman Black Francis’ return to painting during the group’s time recording at Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales. Check out the lyric video below.
Pixies are set to take stage for their set at All Points East festival at 6.45pm today (August 23).
Pixie’s upcoming studio album ‘The Night The Zombies Came’ is due out October 25 via BMG. You can pre-order / pre-save it here.
Speaking about the LP in a press release, Pixies frontman Black Francis said: “Fragments that are related and juxtaposed with other fragments in other songs. And in a collection of songs in a so-called LP, you end up making a kind of movie.”
The album will also feature the band’s previously released song ‘You’re So Impatient‘.
Pixies teamed up with their longtime collaborator, producer Tom Dalgety, for the LP. The creation of the album also saw the band welcome new bass player Emma Richardson (Band Of Skulls) to the line-up, making her the first British band member to join the group.
‘The Night The Zombies Came’ Tracklist is:
1. ‘Primrose’
2. ‘You’re So Impatient’
3. ‘Jane (The Night the Zombies Came)’
