Arriving at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in North San Diego, one quickly develops the art of relaxation. The beautiful Spanish Mission-style property is ideal from sunrise to sunset during the summer months. With eight different swimming pools to float in and some of the best water activities in the area, the resort offers couples and families a fun getaway. 

Guests staying near the two Garden pools will enjoy a tropical setting with towering palm trees. Next to these pools there are two hot tubs to soak, relax and unwind. 

The resort also offers an exclusive Edge Adult swimming pool for guests 21 years and older. During the day, guests retreat on lounge chairs or into the shade of the plush cabanas. Poolside fire pits glow in the evening from sunset until 10 pm.

Families enjoy exploring the Family Pool with its Splash Landing Pools and two 100-foot waterslides. The kid-friendly water play areas will entertain little ones for hours.

Nearby is the Splash Café, open seasonally for lunch with a menu filled with sandwiches, salads, cocktails, and sweet treats available throughout the day.

The resort recently completed renovations to its over 500 guest rooms, suites and villas. Comfortable beds are dressed with luxurious sheets and bedding. Colorful theme pillows add a pop of color and sophistication. Villas offer fireplaces and patios with outdoor furniture.

Inside the closet there are two plush bathrobes for guests to use during their stay. Some of the marble bathrooms have a soaking bathtub and a separate shower with upgraded bath and skincare amenities.

For those who need to work a little, there is a custom-designed desk with convenient outlets and ports. Also, the resort provides ADA-accessible rooms and pet friendly rooms.

Those traveling with their four-legged friend will enjoy the comfortable surroundings of the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. Service animals are allowed in the pool areas, however, other pets can prance around the grassy areas, but not the pools due to health code laws.

There is a one-time non-refundable pet fee of $75 per reservation for up to 2 dogs ($200 for Suites and Villas). This fee is for the deep cleaning of the room upon departure.

Only well-mannered dogs are welcome, not cats or other creatures. The resort is unable to accommodate Pit bulls, Pit mixes, Dobermans, Rottweilers, Chows or Chow mixes.

Service animals accompanying guests with disabilities are always welcome and guests will not be required to pay the one-time pet charge.

There are specific dog-friendly tables for guests who enjoy dining with their dogs, but pet owners may have to wait longer than normal when dining with their dog.

Guests who reserve a treatment at The Spa at La Costa will appreciate the multi-million dollar refresh that was completed in 2024. This is the largest spa in San Diego with 43 treatment rooms.

When the Spa originally opened in 1965, it was known as the ‘original destination for mind, body and sport.’ Spa guests will easily surrender their stress while receiving a full body massage or skincare facial.

Upon check in, guests receive a sparkling bellini beverage that can be enhanced with peach or blood orange juice.

Guests receive a locker with a comfortable robe and sandals to wear while enjoying the upgraded facilities before a treatment. Step into the steam room, Himalayan salt rooms, indoor hot whirlpool, saunas, and recline in a comforable lounge chair for a starry sound and vibration experience.

There is also an outdoor swimming pool, stone walking pathway, and Spa Cafe that is exclusive to spa guests. Explore the serene courtyards and visit the quiet relaxation lounge for a complimentary snack, hot beverages and glass of fruit-infused water.

Some of the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa’s signature Sunrise to Sunset experiences include an early sunrise floating sound bath in the Garden Pool. 

Wear your bathing suit or yoga attire to recline on a thick floating inflatable mat. Wear a comfortable eye mask to block any light, while being led on a spiritual and meditative journey. Listen to tranquil sounds that induce relaxation, healing and spiritual awareness.

The Cliff Drysdale Tennis facility at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa provides guests with the ultimate tennis experience. There are 17 clay and hard courts for daytime fun, plus seven lighted tennis courts for evening play. 

Guests can participate in daily drills, clinics, personal tennis lessons and games curated by an international team of USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) pros.

The resort activity guide offers a variety of opportunities including Pickleball. Try your hand at this newer sport that combines tennis, Ping Pong, badminton and racquetball. It’s a great exercise for all ages.
