Former Disney Channel star Skai Jackson was arrested for domestic battery, TMZ reports.
The 22-year-old actress, who was known for her portrayal of Zuri Ross on Jessie and Bunk’d, was reportedly arrested last week after deputies responded to a disturbance in Los Angeles’ Universal CityWalk, with the actress reportedly spotted pushing her boyfriend by security. Officers arrested both parties, and, despite the couple denying there was any physical altercation, security footage led authorities to conclude that she should be charged with misdemeanor domestic battery.
In addition to her Disney Channel series, Jackson has also appeared as a voice actor on several series, including Dragon: Rescue Riders and Super Wings, and had a guest role on A Black Lady Sketch Show.
She also currently runs her own YouTube channel, offering beauty tips and an inside look at her lifestyle and experiences in Hollywood.
In 2021, she shared a tell-all vlog in which she revealed that when she starred in Jessie, at just nine years old, she had some “uncomfortable” encounters with fans, explaining, “I think one time at a meet and greet, someone grabbed me. Not in an inappropriate place or anything, but they grabbed me and they shouldn’t have grabbed me. … Some people just do weird things and I kind of have to deal with it.”
Before joining the Disney Channel she also lent her vocals to series like Team Umizoomi, Bubbble Guppies, and Dora the Explorer.
