This Hilton Head Resort’s Beachfront Location, Food & Spa Are Just A Few Reasons To Linger A Little Longer

There is nothing quite like finding a great waterfront escape with the ocean quietly lapping at the sand just a few steps away. The Hilton Beachfront Resort & Spa offers a true escape from it all on Hilton Head Island.

The former Marriott Hilton Head Resort & Spa recently rebranded under the Hilton name and now offers a family friendly getaway complete with private beach access, indoor and outdoor pools, full-service spa, fitness center, business center, and on-site restaurants.

As of March 1, 2024, the property owned and managed by Columbia Sussex opened its doors on the island becoming the only Hilton-branded full-service resort within 200 miles of Hilton Head Island. The rebranding involved a multimillion-dollar transformation of its 513 guest rooms and suites. For the ultimate in luxury, book a stay in their Presidential Suite or one of four Vice Presidential Suites.

Nestled in the Palmetto Dunes community, the enclave features three miles of beach frontage, three PGA golf courses, and 2,000 acres to explore for hiking, walking, biking, or any type of outdoor activity you can think of. There is even an award-winning pickleball and tennis center just a few minutes away from the property along with an 11-mile lagoon for kayaking or fishing.

When booking a stay here, be sure to request a corner king oceanfront suite. The spacious suite provides a front row view of dolphins frolicking in the Atlantic Ocean and some of the most incredible sunrises and sunsets found on the East Coast.

The suite has a spacious bathroom and separate wet bar area with refrigerator. Complimentary high-speed internet access and bottled waters are also included in the stay. For convenient access, there are also complimentary self-service laundry facilities on-site.

Enjoy breakfast each morning in The Café or head downstairs to the Coffee Shop for a grab-and-go coffee and muffin to enjoy on the covered terrace while soaking in the oceanfront views.

Each morning, there is a buffet breakfast set up in The Café that offers everything from scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, and cereal to freshly baked muffins, yogurt, and pastries. If you prefer eggs another way, i.e. over easy or an omelet, just ask your server and the chef will custom prepare your order.

When it comes to dinner, be sure to check out their on-site restaurant, Blue.

Start off with one of their signature cocktails like a Spicy Pineapple Punch made with jalapeno-infused Wheatley Vodka and fresh pineapple juice, or the Nonino Paper Plane with Woodford Reserve and Aperol.

The chef’s featured dish was Surf & Turf, a combination of filet mignon with stir-fried shrimp served with mashed potatoes, broccolini, and bourbon sauce. The chicken quesadillas were overstuffed with a delicious combination of marinated chipotle chicken, Colby jack cheese, and fire-roasted salsa.

The standout appetizer is their signature shrimp “cargot,” a flavor-filled take on traditional escargot. The shareable dish featured Gulf shrimp swimming in a heavenly pool of roasted garlic lemon butter, topped with melted Asiago and Swiss cheeses, served with a side of crostini for either dipping, topping with shrimp or mopping up every last bite.

For main events, you won’t want to miss the Seared Salmon. Served atop a tasty layering of braised tomatoes and leeks, Meyer lemon beurre Blanc, baby spinach, and jasmine rice, this was the declared winner of the table. Coming in a close second was the melt-in-your-mouth Braised Short Rib, a hearty portion accompanied by Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. We enjoyed dinner at Blue so much that we revisited the following night, requesting the exact same dishes.

For the ultimate in relaxation, be sure to book a treatment at their on-site spa, Spa Soleil.

Arrive a few minutes before your treatment to relax and enjoy some time in their Tranquil Relaxation Room. From full body scrubs and hydrating facials to invigorating massages and makeup services, the spa offers something for everyone. The signature 50-minute pedicure starts off with an aromatherapy foot soak followed by a foot and leg sugar scrub, nail buff and polish application – the perfect way to wrap up a luxury stay.

Hilton Beachfront Resort & Spa is located at One Hotel Circle in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
