For the first time ever, Delta Airlines will now connect customers with its nonstop service from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to the ancient capital of Naples, Italy – the gateway to the Amalfi coast and the island of Capri. After arriving in Naples, the only way to reach the island of Capri is by sea. Ferries depart from Naples (around 50 minutes by boat to Capri) and Sorrento (similar sailing time), and in the summer, there are also routes from the ports of Positano, Salerno, Ischia, and Amalfi as well. Once arriving ashore, Capri’s allure is quite compelling. The island is renowned for its upscale boutiques, where high fashion meets Italian craftsmanship. Designer shops line the streets of Via Camerelle, inviting visitors to indulge in the best of retail therapy. The finest gourmet restaurants and lavish luxury hotels ensure that every moment on the island is steeped in opulence, ensuring a most memorable getaway.

For a fun and vibrant take on Italian elegance, look no further than the Capri Tiberio Palace property, part of the Leading Hotels of the World collection. It has been one of the finest hotels on the island since the Twenties and has been renovated in recent years. Located right in the heart of glamorous Capri, on a quiet street but steps away from the main square, this hotel injects upscale playfulness onto an island that takes it splendor rather seriously. With breath-taking views out to sea from all of its 45 rooms and suites, a glorious 1960s Cuban bar and vibrant decorative design pieces collected from all over the world, the Tiberio Palace blends classic Italian chicness with lively informality to make for something truly unique and special.

The stylish decor, inspired by the island’s heritage, seamlessly blends contemporary luxury with traditional Italian charm. Each room is unique in design at the Tiberio Palace, like the hotel itself, and all the special touches are sure to delight the senses during a stay. Designer Gianpiero Panepinto used pastel colors and unusual objects to make the rooms intimate as well as interesting, and the stunning panoramic sea views and vast terraces with the most beautiful mosaic tiles will leave you utterly speechless. The plush bedding and luxurious amenities ensured that every moment spent indoors was one of indulgence and relaxation. While still conforming in its style to the glamor and sophistication that make Capri one of the chicest spots in Europe, the Capri Tiberio Palace shines with brilliant personality.

One of the highlights at the Capri Tiberio Palace is undoubtedly the hotel’s rooftop terrace. With panoramic views of the island and the sparkling sea stretching as far as the eye could see, it served as the perfect spot to unwind with a refreshing cocktail or savor a delectable meal at the Michelin-starred restaurant, Terrazza Tiberio. The hotel’s main restaurant, Terrazza Tiberio, features the most delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner, from its perch overlooking the azure waters of the sea below. Renowned Chef Francesco de Simone serves up traditional and fan favorite dishes such as homemade ravioli, eggplant parmigiana, and baked sea bass with panzanella, filled with the freshest ingredients that the island has to offer. Each dish consumed was a mouth-watering culinary masterpiece, showcasing the skilled craftsmanship of the kitchen.

Jacky Bar is the open-all-day lounge that spills out into a tiny front garden at the entry of the hotel. The fresh pastel decor and warm ambiance make it as beguiling for a morning latté as its namesake Jacky cocktail – champagne with strawberries and Cointreau. The hotel also boasts an indoor-outdoor heated pool, accessible from the spa and the expansive sundeck, perfect for a post-excursion dip and a sunset aperitif. After a day of adventure, we retreated to the hotel’s luxurious spa, where we indulged in rejuvenating treatments inspired by ancient Roman rituals. The soothing ambiance and expert therapists left us feeling pampered and revitalized, ready to take on whatever adventures the next day had in store.

The Capri Tiberio Palace is an ideal five-star perch for exploring everything the island has to offer – all of which can be arranged through the property’s attentive and well-connected concierge. For the best bookings, guests can email, iMessage, or WhatsApp Tiberio’s talented team (at any time – day or night!), who can easily arrange for bespoke beach club reservations, private boat tours, and tables at the top restaurants in town. Capri, an island in Italy’s Bay of Naples, is not only renowned for its stunning landscapes, but also for its exquisite cuisine. One of the most memorable meals was at Da Paolino, known for its beautiful setting, where guests dine under the twinkly stars and lemon trees where the atmosphere and ambiance play a key role in the full evening experience. Le Grottelle, on the side of one of Capri’s steepest cliffs near the Arco Naturale, was a standout, providing a stunning sea view, rustic charm, and menu full of Capri’s best home-cooked traditional dishes, served in a treetop, open-air setting. Another outstanding dinner was at Villa Verde, where delectable Italian delights were served in the most special enchanting garden.

Visiting a beach club in Capri is indeed a must for anyone looking to experience the island’s stunning coastal beauty, swimming in the sea, and ultra-luxurious lifestyle. La Fontelina is perhaps the most iconic, Pinterest-perfect beach club in Capri. Well-known for its breathtaking views of the Faraglioni rocks, La Fontelina offers comfortable sunbeds, blue-striped umbrellas, and an on-site restaurant, carved into the rocks, serving delicious seafood and local specialties. This isn’t the type of beach club where you can just stop by unannounced; you’ll need to reserve a daybed or set of chairs at least a month in advance during the high-season summer months. After making this coveted reservation (done through the Tiberio Palace’s concierge), you’ll be able to relax on the sun-drenched terraces carved into the rocks, swim in the clear blue waters, and enjoy a leisurely lunch with fresh, flavorful dishes.

Da Luigi ai Faraglioni is another noteworthy standout, famous for its upbeat ambiance, exclusivity away from the crowds, stunning landscape, and direct access to the sea right in front of the Faraglioni rocks. It’s perfect for those looking to swim in the shadow of these iconic formations. Both beach clubs are accessible by boat (water taxis can be arranged through the hotel and the beach club from Marina Piccola, a quick taxi ride from the main plaza), or via footpaths with steps. Be prepared for a bit of a hike or arrange for boat transportation in advance.

Renting a private yacht in Capri is another fantastic, one-of-a-kind way to explore the island’s stunning coastline, hidden coves, and iconic sights from one of the best vantage points, the sea. By boat, you can discover the island’s many natural treasures, from the iconic Faraglioni rock formations to the enchanting Blue Grotto (and the green one as well!). Capri Sea Experience provided a unique and luxurious way to enjoy the stunning island scenery, allowing us to customize our itinerary and providing us with a knowledgeable, charming Captain during our day on the water. The luxury boat included amenities like sunbathing decks, snorkeling, and swimming equipment, and onboard catering and beverages.

Shopping in Capri is more than just retail therapy; it’s a journey into the island’s heart and soul. Each purchase tells a story of Italian elegance and craftsmanship, and every shop offers a glimpse into the island’s rich cultural heritage. Whether you’re seeking high-end fashion at boutiques like Prada or Zimmermann, unique jewelry, or handcrafted treasures, Capri promises a shopping experience that is as memorable and enchanting as the island itself. For those seeking distinct, artisanal pieces, the island’s local shops offer a delightful array of handcrafted goods. Capri is renowned for its custom-made sandals, and a visit to one of the traditional sandal makers, such as the historic Bottega Capri, is a must. This family-owned, multi-generational shop ensures that each pair is crafted by hand, guaranteeing a perfect fit and a personalized touch. The leatherwork, often adorned with intricate designs and vibrant colors, makes for a stylish and comfortable souvenir that embodies the essence of Capri. While shopping in Capri, the experience is enhanced by the island’s enchanting atmosphere. The narrow, cobbled streets of Capri Town are filled with charming boutiques and inviting cafes, where you can pause for a refreshing limoncello or a creamy gelato. The Piazzetta, Capri’s main square, is a lively hub where fashionistas and locals gather, creating a dynamic and welcoming ambiance.

It’s hard to dispute Capri’s charm… swimming in the pristine turquoise sea, beautiful beach clubs, evening strolls through the small piazzas along the historic cobblestoned streets, and unforgettable Italian meals make this tiny island one not to overlook. Capri’s allure remains compelling, despite the crowds of visitors that swarm its streets in summertime. From the azure waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea to the rugged cliffs adorned with lush greenery, coupled with the charming streets filled with vibrant bougainvillea – all painting a picture-perfect scene of Mediterranean allure on the captivating island of Capri.

The Capri Tiberio Palace undeniably remains a standout hotel, with its upscale contemporary design and unbeatable location, a beacon of elegance and sophistication on this luxurious island. From the impeccable service, undeniable access, and breathtaking surroundings, every moment at the Capri Tiberio Palace, a five-star gem, was filled with magic, wonder, and nothing short of enchanting. It’s a destination that truly captures the essence of “la dolce vita”, and one that we’ll cherish in our memories forever. We cannot wait to return to this slice of paradise on the picturesque cliffs of Capri.
