Plus, buzzy new launches from Drunk Elephant and Benefit Cosmetics.

Hero Cosmetics is finally here

Pimple-poppers, we have some excellent news for you: Hero Cosmetics’ lineup of famous hydrocolloid stickers has finally made their way to Canada. The line began after co-founder & CEO Ju Rhyu launched the original K-beauty inspired Mighty Patch in 2017 on Amazon. Designed to be worn during the day or overnight, the patches suck up all the gunk living in your zit, revealing a significantly calmer, flatter blemish. The product was an instant hit, and Hero Cosmetics has expanded to include over 30 products to target breakouts, rosacea, dark spots and even fine lines.

Currently, Canadians can purchase four products from the lineup, including the Mighty Patch Original patches, meant to be worn overnight; Mighty Patch Invisible+ patches, which work great under makeup; the ultra-flexible Mighty Patch Nose patches that target oiliness and minimize the look of pores; and Mighty Patch Surface patches, XL-sized zit stickers for the forehead, cheeks and chin.

Benefit just dropped a new mascara

From BADGal to Roller Lash to They’re Real!, Benefit has been a huge player in the mascara space for years. But the brand’s latest launch, the Fan Fest Fanning & Volumizing Mascara, might be the one that takes the cake. If the name didn’t give it away, the volume-boosting formula curls and separates lashes for a long and wispy appearance, while the custom brush deposits just the right amount of product to eliminate unsightly clumps. Plus, there’s plenty of lash-enhancing ingredients like cranberry extract and rice wax, to help keep lashes soft and supple. It’s water-resistant, humidity- and sweat-proof, too, making it an excellent choice if you’re seeking a new summer mascara.

NARS Orgasm gets its own Instagram filters

Orgasm-inspired digital art has entered the building. Together with cryptoart platform SuperRare and in celebration of National Orgasm Day, NARS launched an exclusive collection of NFTs and makeup instagram filters inspired by the brand’s most famous shade—you guessed it—Orgasm. The “Orgasm, Activated” collection features custom digital artworks created by five women artists: Dr. Alex Box, Serwah Attafuah, Nina “Ninocence” Hawkins, Clara Bacou, and Damara Ingles. Each artist created an AR filter incorporating the popular NARS blush shade, which can be accessed the NARS Instagram page (@narsissist) for a limited time.

Aman Spa opens its doors in Toronto

New-to-Toronto spa Aman Spa—meaning safety and tranquility in Arabic—is now open, and it’s every bit as relaxing as its name suggests. The quaint space, run by registered massage therapist, Thom Tullo, takes a client-focused approach to treatment, employing different techniques according to the needs of the individual. Come for an aromatherapy massage or the spa’s signature Rose Gold Facial to unwind, or try out a lymphatic drainage facial massage or skin-tightening medical aesthetic treatments such as Morpheus8 and Forma for something a little more results-driven.

Drunk Elephant releases gold-tinted serum drops

For illumination without the shimmer, Drunk Elephant’s latest launch is sure to do the trick. Sister product to the brand’s popular D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops and flush-enhancing O-Bloos Rosi Drops, B-Goldi™ Bright Drops can be applied anywhere you want to add a champagne-coloured sheen to your skin. A few drops of this barrier-strengthening serum helps soothe and brighten the complexion, thanks to ingredients like firming niacinamide, antioxidant-loaded gallic acid, and hyperpigmentation-reducing mulberry leaf extract. The best part? It’s a versatile all-in-one product. Wear it alone, mix it with your moisturizer or foundation, use it as a highlighter, or apply it as a makeup base—either way, the choice is yours, and the benefits remain the same.
