After years of catching eyes and praise during its early access period, Prodeus is finally hitting its 1.0 version and coming to consoles. Humble Games announced that the bloody shooter will be coming out on September 23 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It will also launch on Xbox Game Pass (it’s also currently on PC Game Pass).

Prodeus‘ release date reveal came as a part of the boomer shooter-filled Realms Deep presentation. The trailer from the event showed off its fast-paced retro gunplay and customizable maps (however, its level editor is only on PC), in addition to its competitive multiplayer and four-player co-op. It also had tunes from Andrew Hulshult, who is known for scoring other fast first-person shooters like Dusk, Amid Evil, and Doom Eternal‘s The Ancient Gods DLC.

Prodeus launched in early access in November 2019 and was received rather well after more than doubling its Kickstarter goal. It currently sits at “Very Positive” and “Overwhelmingly Positive” on Steam for recent reviews and all reviews, respectively. It was also previously planned for consoles, but that date was quite nebulous. However, it seemed like a release date was nearing since it was recently rated and part of an Xbox Game Pass sizzle reel.
