When the Lit Hub staff worked out of an office, some among us were very fond of harmless workplace pranks. (Some day we’ll publish the oral history of the time we replaced the first page of Fleur Jaeggy’s Sweet Days of Discipline with the first page of a Lit Hub editor’s own book and momentarily convinced him he had accidentally plagiarized a book he’d never read. Actually, that’s pretty much the whole story.)
As someone with an interest in relatively victimless pranks, I appreciated the news that the comedy duo The Good Liars—known for their previous work retitling Donald Trump, Jr.’s book as Daddy, Please Love Me—had replaced the cover of Jared Kushner’s “queasy-making” Breaking History in a New York Barnes & Noble.

Is comparing Jared Kushner to Slenderman (and Ivanka to a possessed mannequin) the most biting of political wit? Certainly not. But a good prank is a good prank.
