HBO Max Schedule Additions: New TV & Movies Arriving July 18-24

An HBO Max original comedy debuts later this week.

Starting Thursday, July 24, HBO Max subscribers can follow a group of aspiring female rappers trying to make it to the top. Rap Sh!t stars Aida Osman, real-life artist KaMillion, Jonica Booth, Devon Terrell, and RJ Cyler. It is executive produced by Issa Rae and Montrel McKay (A Black Lady Sketch ShowRoad Trippp) for Hoorae, as well as Jonathan Berry (Insecure) and Dave Becky (Master of NoneRussian Dolls) for 3 Arts Entertainment, along with showrunner Syreeta Singleton, with Rae also writing the pilot.

“The comedy follows two estranged high school friends from Miami, Shawna and Mia, who reunite to form a rap group,” reads the logline. “Join Shawna and Mia as they try to make it in the rap scene all while staying true to themselves.”

Hip hop duo Yung Miami and JT of City Girls serve as co-executive producers, along with Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas for Quality Control Films and Sara Rastogi for Hoorae. Rae’s audio content company Raedio will handle music supervision for the series. Check out the Rap Sh!t trailer here.

Additionally, the sophomore season of Walker will air on HBO Max starting Saturday, July 23. The series is the official rebook of the nineties well-known Walker, Texas Ranger series featuring Chuck Norris. Walker stars Jared Padalecki, Lindsey Morgan, Molly Hagan, Keegan Allen, Violet Brinson, Kale Culley, Coby Bell, Jeff Pierre, Mitch Pileggi, as well as Odette Annable, and Ashley Reyes
