A new One Piece Film: Red teaser trailer has been released for the highly anticipated anime film ahead of its premiere on August 6, 2022.

This teaser trailer focuses on Shanks, who was previously heavily rumored to be the main focus of the film. It also reveals the name of the new female pirate, who winds up being Shanks’ daughter, Uta. Uta is said to be “the world’s greatest diva” and to have a “voice that can change the world,” although what that exactly means remains to be seen.

One Piece‘s next film will focus on Shanks, the leader of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the Four Emperors. Shanks is an important part of the series lore as he inspired protagonist Monkey D. Luffy to become a pirate and gave him the straw hat that he now wears.

One Piece Film: Red is directed by Goro Taniguchi (Code Geass) with a script written by Kuroiwa Tsutomu. Manga creator Eiichiro Oda will serve as a producer and general supervisor.
