Skechers got an artistic upgrade, thanks to their new collaboration with Kansai Yamamoto

Photography courtesy of Skechers

Skechers is celebrating the legacy of innovative Japanese designer Kansai Yamamoto on the first anniversary of his passing with a street style-inspired footwear collection. A favourite amongst musicians such as David Bowie, the visionary creative believed in the power of joy and that fashion should talk to everyone. Those ideals can be seen throughout the new sneaker collection, as Yamamoto’s signature bold and colourful aesthetic is brought to life through Skechers Max Cushioning styles for women and men. As a special touch, models were shot for the campaign wearing kansaïyamamoto apparel re-created from the label’s 1980s archives. If you’re looking to add some more colour to your wardrobe, the designs are available now at skechers.ca.

Meet Charlie, Louis Vuitton’s first-ever unisex sneaker made of 90 percent recycled and bio-sourced materials. Sustainable practices are used in every stage of this design, from the sole — made up of at least 94 percent recycled rubber — and recycled polyester body to the ECONYL® laces. Pushing this approach even further, Louis Vuitton has redesigned its traditional packaging to include felt made with TENCEL™; a 100 percent recycled cardboard box with a handle that removes the need for a plastic bag; and the use of plant-based inks within its packaging design. Although Charlie won’t be available to purchase until November 12, this announcement marks a great stride in luxury sustainability.

Vancouver-based brand Adeera’s newest collection adds silk to your everyday wardrobe

Good news for the silk lovers out there — after two successful pre-order drops last year, Vancouver-based brand Adeera has released their latest collection. Compared to Edition I — which focused on special occasion wear — Edition II is all about chic separates that can be integrated into daily dressing. Made of 100 percent Grade A silk, Adeera spent eight months perfecting every detail on every garment, and it really shows. As there are limited quantities of each style to minimize textile waste and overproduction, be sure to shop the collection ASAP.

The Warby Parker x Entireworld collab is here to bring more colour to your sunglasses

If you’re looking to give your shades a colourful upgrade, look no further than the Warby Parker x Entireworld collaboration. For this collection, Scott Sternberg, founder and creative director of the L.A. clothing brand Entireworld (and longtime friend of Warby Parker), reimagined the ’70s-inspired acetate aviator “Hatcher” frame in four vibrant hues. In celebration of the collaboration, the brand is donating to the Equal Justice Initiative, an organization committed to challenging racial and economic injustice. And as with all Warby Parker frames, for every pair purchased, a pair is distributed to someone in need.

To celebrate the opening of the much anticipated Andy Warhol exhibit at the AGO, the gallery has collaborated with Herschel Supply Co. on a collection of colour blocked camo pieces. Produced in partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Herschel’s first collaboration with the pop art icon is now available at shopAGO’s physical shop. If you can’t make it in person, the collection launches online August 9 at both shopAGO.com and herschel.com.
