J.J. Abrams Confirms the Portal Movie Is Not A Lie

Film

Back in 2013 at the DICE Summit, director J.J. Abrams mentioned that he intended to work with Valve on a movie based on the uber-popular physics puzzler Portal. Since then, things have been somewhat quiet, with many assuming that the movie has joined the ranks of the hundreds of proposed media crossovers that have ended up falling by the wayside over the years.

However, in an interview with IGN this week, Abrams has confirmed that the project is indeed still alive.

“We actually do have a script that’s being written for the Portal movie now at [Warner Bros]. We’re really excited about the take and the pitch, so it feels like that thing’s finally on the rails” said Abrams.

No writer Is confirmed as being attached to the project yet, but Abrams is bullish about the project. He went on to say that the upcoming picture has “got enormous potential for a lot of reasons, one of which is because of the limited narrative of the game, as ingeniously told as it is, the potential of it is so huge. It’s gonna be super fun.”
