A new listing from French retail site Sogamely indicates that Sega’s favorite blue blur – Sonic the Hedgehog – is set to see himself star in a new Sonic 30th Anniversary Collection later this year.

Listed as “Sonic Collection EU version” for PlayStation 4, the new listing appears to back up a rumor that has been circulating regarding Sega’s plans to celebrate their mascot’s 30th trip around the sun. Previously, it was claimed that a new collection would launch that would contain remasters of both the original Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic 2, using Christian Whitehead’s Star Engine, formerly known as Retro Engine.

Star Engine was very successfully used to bring us 2017’s Sonic Mania and served as the powerhouse behind digital and mobile ports of Sonic’s earlier games. If the past is any indicator of the future here, we’d expect to see the remasters hitting a sweet 60 frames per second, with full widescreen support.

Two games aren’t enough to make a collection, so further titles are expected to be included. A remaster of 2010’s Wii and Nintendo DS exclusive Sonic Colors has been rumored for a while but is expected to be released separately as Sonic Colors Ultimate. Sonic 3 likely won’t make the cut due to music licensing issues. More likely inclusions would be the likes of Sonic R, Sonic Pocket Adventure, and Sonic Advance, though we’ll keep our big ol’ blue ears to the ground to see if we can’t dig up some more info.

If the rumors are true, we’ll see the new Sonic 30th Anniversary Collection dropping in June or July for all major platforms.
