Hard to believe it’s been two years since Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond dropped their epic collab “Show Me Love.” The track became an instant classic, and it clearly still resonates today. Today, Sander van Doorn, another titan on the EDM scene, treats us to his remix, and it takes the song to another level.
The SvD remix opens with the vocal refrain, “Show me love…” isolated and then sped up. A lilting progressive synth melody comes in to set the tone for the remix. The horn synths of the original are kept in tact here, but they seem farther off than in the original. After a slight buildup we get the first massive drop, and it’s some gnarly psy-trance with the original melody and refrain chopped up over it.
After the first drop, there’s an absolutely sick synth breakdown that will take you back to the old school rave days. More synths start to build urgency in the background as they get mixed in with the original melody. The second drop hits even harder with the pulsating synth line playing over a psy-trance bassline. This one will sound great once it gets dropped in a dark and packed club, somewhere on Earth.
