Originally conceived as a single film, this adaption recreates plot points from both Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. However, it isn’t a direct adaption of the plot of the games. This had led to some interesting moments for those who remember the games and for those only familiar with the more notable entries in the series like Symphony of the Night.

Following the end of Castlevania, showrunner Adi Shankar is moving on to a similar adaption in Devil May Cry. He’s also been attached to Ubisoft’s TV adaption of Assassin’s Creed, and he promises fans that he’ll try to connect all of his video game works into some sort of “Bootleg Multiverse.” With the success of this and Netflix’s recent series based on DOTA, there’s sure to be plenty of opportunities for new entries in that endeavor.
