Dominique Fishback joins Apple’s The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey

On the heels of her breakout roles in HBO’s The Deuce, Netflix’s Project Power and WB’s Judas and the Black Messiah, Dominique Fishback has found another major role to add to her resumé as she joins the cast for Apple’s miniseries adaptation of The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey centers around the titular character, a 91-year-old man forgotten by his family, by his friends, by even himself. On the brink of sinking even deeper into a lonely dementia, Ptolemy experiences a seismic shift when he’s given the tremendous opportunity to briefly regain his memories, and uses this precious and fleeting lucidity to solve his nephew’s death and come to terms with his past. Samuel L. Jackson (The Banker) is set in the titular role while Fishback has signed on to star as Robyn, a friend of the family who helps Ptolemy, with the streamer also having signed White Tiger writer/director Ramin Bahrani to direct and executive produce.

The series will be written by author Walter Mosley, who will also serve as an executive producer along with Jackson. Anonymous Content’s Eli Selden and Diane Houslin have also been set as executive producers. This marks the second collaboration between Jackson and Apple, who have previously worked together in last year’s The Banker.

He also gained recognition for his role as Nick Fury in Marvel Studios’ blockbuster MCU films and is set to reprise the role in Disney+’s new MCU series Secret Invasion.
