Beloved NYC bookstore Bluestockings—long a fixture on the Lower East Side—has found a new home. This will come as a relief to downtown book-lovers who worried the iconic feminist bookstore was closing for good due to both pandemic woes and the threat of increased rent (in a pandemic 😬).

After a furious round of fundraising, the store—which is collectively owned—appears set to move from its Allen Street location of 20 years down to 116 Suffolk Street. But that move will come with more costs, so if you’re interested in hanging on to a small part of an older LES, please consider contributing.
