The special event will feature appearances and performances by Antoni Porowski, Billy Porter, Charlize Theron, Justin Bieber and others.

After the #TogetherAtHome fundraising event in April, Global Citizen is back with another virtual concert—Global Goal—to raise awareness about the impact COVID-19 has had on marginalized communities around the world.

Airing this Saturday, the “Global Goal: Unite for Our Future” concert will be a globally televised and digitally streamed special featuring panel discussions, interviews, and performances by artists like Justin Bieber, Chloe x Halle, Coldplay, Quavo, Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, Shakira and Usher. The event aims to encourage governments, the private sector and philanthropists to make commitments to more equally distribute COVID-19 tests and vaccines.

“Global Citizens around the world are calling on world leaders to help bring an end to COVID-19 by urging them to commit the billions of dollars needed to deliver testing, treatments and vaccines to everyone, everywhere,” Shakira said in a statement. “We need health equity and global justice, and we know that only by uniting to fight for the world we want can we build back toward a healthier future for all.”

FASHION cover star Antoni Porowski, Billy Porter, Charlize Theron, David Beckham, Hugh Jackman, Kerry Washington, Olivia Colman and others will also make appearances alongside host Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

“I’m proud to join Global Citizen and the European Commission to host the Global Goal: Unite for Our Future concert,” Johnson said in a statement. “The event aims to lift up the global community that is tackling equitable access to healthcare and other enormous injustices facing our world. This critical moment in history requires all of us — so let’s join together to chart a better future, for everyone.”

Global Goal airs Saturday, June 27, at 8pm EST on NBC, MTV, Twitter and YouTube, as well as via international broadcasters and streaming platforms including Bell Media, CBC, Citytv, and Global TV in Canada. See the full lineup of participants here.
