Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile Trailer Highlights Combat

Square Enix released a new trailer for the upcoming mobile game based on the legendary anime Fullmetal Alchemist, giving players a look at the title’s mechanics, cutscenes, and art style.

This latest trailer looks into some iconic scenes from the anime while also showcasing some of the combat found in the game. Details on just how the game will play are still unknown, but judging by the trailer, it looks as if it will be similar to Fire Emblem, and other strategy titles, with players able to move across tiles to set up moves.

Currently, not too much is known about Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile, other than the fact that it will feature some high-quality CG cutscenes and aim to retell the original story of the series. According to past Square Enix announcements, the game will also include battle scenes that “are brought to life in high-quality 3D CG.”

The title will be free-to-play, with item-based in-app purchases also available. The full breakdown for what has been announced for the game includes (per Gematsu):

  • Relive the Original Story – Relive the story of the original Fullmetal Alchemist, fully voiced by an extravagant cast, with numerous famous scenes depicted in beautiful 3D CG or new animation. Uncover the charm of a timeless series.
  • Spirited Battle Scenes – Lively battle scenes depicted by 3D CG. Heated alchemy battles are even more exhilarating through richly detailed scenes. The game’s unique battle displays by its rich cast (Edward, Alphonse, Mustang, and more) are a sight to behold.

Pre-registration for the game is available now on the game’s website, with a release date targeted for summer 2022 on iOS and Android.
