After being announced a year ago to the happiness of fans around the world, Electronic Arts hasn’t given many Skate 4 updates. Now we finally have a juicy one.
While there’s some potentially disappointing news that Skate 4 won’t be shown during the EA Play Live presentation on Thursday, it’s said that development is going well as a studio was formed in January and it is determined to take the time to get Skate right. Although the game won’t be rushed, fans will get a taste “a little something” tomorrow as some sort of reveal will be posted.

“What have we been up to? Well, we formed a studio back in January, got a bunch of super talented people to join the family, and we’ve been working hard on the new game,” wrote the official Twitter account. “Now, we know many of you were hoping to see more from us this week but we’re not ready for prime time just yet and we won’t be part of the EA Play Live show on Thursday. It’s still early and we are committed to doing this thing right which means it’s gonna take some time. Our number one goal is not to blow it. For you, for us… for Skate. However, we are stoked to share a little something with you all tomorrow.”

Skate 4 is the latest skateboarding game from EA. The previous three entries all received critical and commercial acclaim for providing a more realistic alternative than the over-the-top action in Activision’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series. No release window has been set for the latest installment just yet.
