Knockout City Tops 5 Million Unique Players

Electronic Arts’ recently released action dodgeball game Knockout City has been a smash hit, and according to the company, has seen a huge influx of players during its launch period.

In a new blog post on Thursday, EA announced that during its “Block Party” trial promo, which allowed the game to be played for free for the first 10 days, saw a huge amount of players dive in. According to the company, 5 million players have played the game already, surpassing the expectations that the company had for the game. 

“This party was unforgettable in many ways,” the company said in a statement. “And we’re so excited to see the support and positivity pouring in from you, our community! Since launch, we’ve seen 5 million new brawlers join us in matches, there’s been amazing— and unexpected— gameplay, hundreds of thousands of Crews were formed, over half a billion KOs landed, millions of hours of gameplay were watched, and—dare we say it?—thousands of friendships were made along the way. Who knew you could bond over hitting one another in the face with a dodgeball?”

Knockout City’s Block Party free trial is no longer available, but you can still play the game for free until you hit level 25 in-game. At that point, you’ll have to either stop playing or pick up the game fully for $20.
